How to Use the Configurable PI Calendar
The Configurable PI Calendar offers flexibility for teams with unique Agile cycles. Use the "Scrum Configuration" section to set the number of PIs per year (e.g., 4 or 5) and the number of sprints per PI. The tool will automatically generate a visual roadmap for the selected year. You can then navigate through individual PIs to see exactly how your two-week sprints are distributed. This is perfect for custom Scaled Agile implementations.
The primary benefit of this tool is that it allows you to create a visual model that accurately reflects your real-world workflow. This ensures that the planning artifacts you create are not just theoretical but are practical and aligned with how your teams actually operate.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I change the sprint length from 2 weeks?
A: Currently, the tool is optimized for the industry-standard 2-week sprint duration. You can, however, adjust how many of these sprints are grouped into a single Program Increment.
Q: Does the tool save my custom configuration?
A: Yes! We use your browser's local storage to remember your PIs per year and sprints per PI settings, so your custom roadmap stays intact when you return.
Q: Is there a way to export the full year's schedule?
A: You can download the sprints for any *active* PI as a CSV. To export the whole year, simply navigate to each PI and click the download button for that segment.
