Capturing Requirements from the User's Perspective

User stories are short, simple descriptions of a feature told from the perspective of the person who desires the new capability, usually a user or customer of the system.

The Standard Format:

A common user story format is: "As a [type of user], I want [some goal] so that [some reason]."

- As a [User Role]: Who are we building this for?

- I want [Goal]: What are they trying to accomplish?

- So that [Benefit]: Why do they want to do this? What value does it provide?

INVEST in Good User Stories:

A good user story is:

- Independent

- Negotiable

- Valuable

- Estimable

- Small

- Testable

Using the Task Tracker can help your team manage and prioritize these user stories in a visual Kanban board.
