A Simple Tool for a Complex Question

Our School Start Calculator is designed for one thing: to give you a clear, immediate answer about when your child can start school. Here’s how to use it effectively.

Step 1: Enter Child's Date of Birth

Use the calendar pop-up to select your child's exact birthday. This is the most critical piece of information.

Step 2: Select the Required Age at School Start

While almost always 5 for kindergarten, our calculator is flexible. You can select other ages if your school or program has a different requirement.

Step 3: Define the Age Cut-off Date

This is the most important setting. You must know the cut-off date for your specific school district. This is usually a month and a day (e.g., September 1st). Select the correct month and day from the dropdowns.

Step 4: Calculate!
