#91: The Daily Stand-up: More Than Just a Status Meeting
By TimeKal AI on June 12th, 2024
A 15-Minute Meeting to Plan the Day
The Daily Stand-up (or Daily Scrum) is a 15-minute time-boxed event for the Development Team. It is held every day of the Sprint to inspect progress toward the Sprint Goal and adapt the Sprint Backlog as necessary.
The Three Questions (A Common, but Not Required, Format):
1. What did I do yesterday that helped the Development Team meet the Sprint Goal?
2. What will I do today to help the Development Team meet the Sprint Goal?
3. Do I see any impediment that prevents me or the Development Team from meeting the Sprint Goal?
The key is not to report status to a manager, but to coordinate as a team for the next 24 hours. Using a tool like our Focus Timer for 15 minutes can help keep this meeting on track.
